Central Air Conditioner Problem
Are you having central air conditioner problem and it is not blowing cold air?
Is your air conditioner turned on but blowing hot air? There are several reasons that can cause central air conditioner problem of blowing hot air. Before you call an air conditioning repair company, check for these common things that may cause the issue.
Check Your Thermostat:
Check your thermostat and make sure it isn’t set to “heat” and adjust temperature accordingly. Also check that your thermostat battery is not dead and replace it if needed. Issues with the thermostat is one of the most common issues that cause central air conditioner problem.
Check for Clean Air Filters:
The air filters need to be replaced periodically every 3 to 6 months. When you leave air filter in for a long time without replacing it will get filled with dirt and debris preventing the air flow. This will create central air conditioner problem and your AC will not cool your home properly.
If your gas line is low on refrigerant, your air conditioner will not cool your home well and will blow warm air. The only way refrigerant gets low is if you have a leak on the gas line, condenser or the coil. Refrigerants are dangerous and you should contact HVAC contractors immediately for repairs. Fixing the leak and refilling refrigerant will solve central air conditioner problem.
Your air conditioning unit has two breakers: one for the outside unit, another for the inside. Check that the indoor and outdoor breaker switches haven’t been tripped. Always be careful with resetting a circuit breaker. If it keeps tripping, then something is wrong! Reset it once and only once, and see if your unit runs normally.
