I have enercare water tank. I have no hot water for the last 5 days. I called enercare for service, technician came and instead of fixing it they gave something called red tag. red tag says I need to have chimney liner installed before enercare can install a new tank. I called several companies for liner quotes and the range I have got is between 600-1300. any suggestions? water tank is 16 years old.May 6, 2016 at 2:19 pm #15976
We had similar issue with Direct Energy and they also told us we had to change our furnace before they can replace water heater and gave us crazy furnace cost. We ended up calling local contractor and purchased new furnace from them at half the price and after installed high efficiency power vent water heater but we are now paying $10 more on monthly basis for it, its a rip off. Call them and if you’re not under a contract and your water heater is older than 10 years, search around and switch to another company or buy your own
