My AC just died this morning and it is plus 32 degrees outside i need a replacement asap. I live in a 2 storey semi detached house and wondering which size do i need, is there a difference to buy 13 or 14 SEER AC and any suggestions for a brand, please let me know asap.

If your house is about 2000 sq ft go for 2 tones AC and if you want to live in this house long then buy a better one, i am sure it will last you longer, but if you are planning to sell the house anytime soon then there is no point of wasting money on higher end equipment
Get 16 SEER air conditioner if you can, those are the best ones, and i believer 18 SEER air conditioner is also available now, they are the most quite and work the best
If you are looking for a slightly cheaper unit then 13 SEER will be the one to buy however if you are looking for a quiter more efficient AC then it is best to purchase 14 SEER. Also you will receive OPA governemnt rebate for 14 SEER AC which will pay the difference in price between 13 and 14 SEER AC.
