Should I go with Reliance for a new water tank?

I am with Reliance, don’t have any issues. I would score them 8 out of 10 for the service. I have heating and cooling protection with them too. Can’t complain.

I have been with reliance for 11 years but last year finally went with another company. reliance increases rental rates every year. Got tired of that.

I’m two years into my contract with reliance and its been okay so far. I’ve had to have one service call done last year and the technician came a little late but got the job done. Other than that I havent had any reason to call them regarding anything else. 8 years left in my contract. I’ll see how it goes.

I had a water tank rental with reliance in the past but I chose to switch after my contract was up. As PedroW said, their rates kept going up and up and I didn’t want to continue dealing with that. Their service was fine but I kept having to pay more and more each year.

The problem with reliance is that they keep raising the monthly price every year. When i moved into my home the rental tank was less than two years old. I wanted to buy it out but their buy out price was $1950 so I decided against it. At this time I was renting the tank for $27 per month. 2.5 years later when I sold my house I was paying $35 per month. Ridiculous price increase!!!

Besides water heaters never let them look at your furnace. They will offer you a “free”:) service when they are there for something else. The goal of the service is to find the smallest issue in the heat exchanger and get rid of the whole unit. Then their sales team will be there in an hour to pressure you into a rental furnace with the most ridiculous terms.

Enercare rental program is a lifetime contract and Reliance’s contract is even worse.
