I go my air conditioner done recently, i live in Toronto and with the hot weather like this it went down and it was only 11 years old. So it all depends on your unit and how often it is used. Better get a new one that wasting money on getting it fixed constantly

Mine was 14 years old, i replaced it last week.It was still working but i also was not getting enough cold air around the house especially when it got ver hot in Toronto. My new AC eliminated this problem and in addition it will pay for itself in couple of years based on the energy savings

KeymasterIf you are looking to replace air conditioner to an energy efficient unit in Toronto and GTA, you need to consider these factors:
-the size of your new Air Conditioner need to be direcly correlated to the size of your home to ensure your AC is not undersized,
-If your furnace is over 15 years of age, Air conditioner will not work to the highest efficiency level, consider upgrading your furnace to high efficiency furnace
-if you home is poorly insulated you might want to get a bigger size AC
-consider options of purchasing, renting and financing
-ensure that you have full warranty on new highe efficiency air conditioner -
